Cover modules are highly diversified system solutions that can meet application-specific demands. They can incorporate a number of elements to bring different functions into a single component, including:
- A housing cover that is either die-cast, stamped or molded composite
- Dynamic sealing elements pressed into or bonded to the housing
- Static gaskets assembled or bonded to the housing
- Sensors and electronic components
The housing is mounted to the engine, transmission or driveline component while the dynamic seals ride on the end of the rotating shafts to contain oil and fluids in their operating areas. A gasket seals the joint between the engine, transmission or driveline component and the module housing.
