Federal-Mogul is a world-class manufacturer of heavy-duty commercial-vehicle (CV) air disc brake pads. CV disc brake pads are a growing segment of the friction market, superseding drum brakes on rigid trucks, buses, tractor units and trailers.

The basic construction of a CV pad is the same as a car pad, although shims are not normally fitted. Federal-Mogul has developed mechanical attachment methods to improve bonding between the material and the backplate. Generally, the brakes are actuated by air, although light-vehicle applications may have hydraulic actuation.
